MEDAN (Yosefardi) – The Chief of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim Polri) Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso told the press on Thursday (July 9) afternoon that the Bareskrim will soon name three regional leaders as graft suspects.
“They are one governor and two regents,” the three-star police general said.
Budi Waseso, however, was reluctant to reveal the identity of said three regional leaders. Budi was also reluctant to reveal the details of the cases implicating the three regional leaders.
Furthermore, Budi also denied that the investigation into said three regional leaders is related to the 2015 simultaneous regional
elections.
The country will hold the first ever simultaneous direct regional elections this year on Dec. 9 in 269 regions comprising of 9 provinces, 36 municipalities, and 224 regencies. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
