JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation (Bareskrim Polri) has raided the office of the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) on Wednesday (Mar. 4) to find documents and evidences related to the graft case of electric buses procurement project under the Ministry of Research of Technology.

Police Sr. Comr. Sumadi, Head of the Bareskrim Polri’s Anti-Corruption Subdirectorate, said the police estimated that the state has suffered Rp5 billion in losses from the case.

Sumadi said that police has named one suspect in the case. The suspect identified with initial P has been charged with Article 2 Paragraph 1 and or Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law No. 20/2001.

The procurement of electric buses itself was conducted back in 2013. At that time, Gusti Muhammad Hatta served as Minister of Research of Technology under Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
