JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri) has named Regent of Bengkalis Herliyan Saleh and Regent of Kotabaru Irhami Ridjani as suspects in corruption cases.
According to the Bareskrim Polri’s director for corruption crimes Brig. Gen. Ahmad Wiyagus, the police alleged Herliyan for committing corruption over the social aid fund of the Bengkalis administration in Riau province.
Irhamni, meanwhile, is alleged for abusing his power related to the issuance of mining licenses in the Kotabaru regency, South Kalimantan.
The Chief of the Bareskrim Polri Comr. Gen. Budi Waseso recently told the press that the Bareskrim will soon name two regents and one governor as graft suspects.
Herliyan Saleh, who is also Chairman of PAN’s Riau chapter, is now seeking his second term as Bengkalis Regent in a local election this year
Similar to Herliyan, Irhami Ridjani is also seeking his second term as Kotabaru Regent in a local election this year. Irhamni is Chairman of Nadem Party’s Advisory Board of Riau chapter. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
