JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Bareskrim POLRI) has just detained Raden Priyono, graft suspect and former Chief of the powerful upstream oil & gas regulator body BPMigas, related to a corruption case surrounding the supply of condensates to PT Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI).
Priyono’s lawyer Supriyadi Adi has confirmed this morning to Kompas.com about the detainment of his client by the Police. According to Supriyadi, his client was questioned by the Police yesterday and then detained his client just after the questioning session.
Other than Priyono, the Police also detained Djoko Harsono, another suspect in this case and former BPMigas’s Deputy Finance & Marketing.
While Honggo Wendratmo, also another suspect in the case suspect and the founder of PT TPPI, has not yet detained. Latest, he was questioned by the Police in Singapore.
The state losses, based on calculation from the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP), is estimated to be around US$139 million from this case. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
