JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) booked net profit of Rp11.7 trillion in 2014, against loss of Rp26.2 trillion in 2013.
Operating profit grew by 11.9% to Rp45.8 trillion from previous Rp40.9 trillion. PLN also booked foreign exhange gain (forex) of Rp1.3 trillion, compared to forex loss of Rp48.1 trillion.
While revenue rose 11.8% to Rp292.7 trillion last year, compared to Rp261.8 trillion in 2013. Electricity sales rose 5.9% with number of customers increased 6.5% to 57.49 million by end of 2014.
While electricity subsidy reached Rp99.3 trillion in 2014, lower than Rp101.2 trillion in 2013, helped by tariff hike. PLN raised again non-subsidy electricity tariff this month.
