JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) plans to build power plants with investment cost of Rp609 trillion.
PLN is assigned by the government of Indonesia to build 10,000 megawatts power plants, part of 35,000 MW power mega project launched by the government for next 5 years.
Some foreign banks and financial institutions have provided loan commitments to PLN, such as;
World Bank : US$3 billion
Asian Development Bank (ADB) : US$2 billion
Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) : US$5 billion
Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau (KfW) : US$5 billion
Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) : US$1 billion
China Development Bank (CDB) : US$10 billion
China Exim : US$5 billion.
Currently Indonesia has total electricity capacity of around 55.000 MW.
