JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), for Riau and Riau island areas, plans to halt operations of 14 diesel-fueled power plants next year, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.
Zulfiantora Tanjung, manager for planning at PLN Riau, said the operation halt for diesel-fueled power plant will help PLN to save Rp464 billion, or 47,032 kiloliters of high speed diesel (HSD).
He said the usage of HSD will be cut to 200,968 kiloliters in 2014, from 248,000 kiloliters this year. PLN however will spend Rp75 billion for halting the operation of 14 diesel-fueled power plants in Riau and Riau island.
