JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) mulls to export electricity to Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd, Malaysia, connected from North Kalimantan.
Nur Pamudji, PLN’s president director, said both parties are now discussing on interconection of electricity. He said PLN opts to export electricity to Sabah.
Currently electricity consumption in Sabah reaches 800 megawatts (MW).
Meanwhile, Nur said PLN also intends to list contractors into a blacklist as they failed to run power plant projects awarded by PLN on schedule.
Nur said 3 projects failed are PLTU Atamua, PLTU Bima and PLTU Gorontalo.
Today, PLN and PT Lombok Energy Dynamics (LED) signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) for coal fired power plant (PLTU) with investment cost of Rp800 billion. This PLTU with capacity of 2×25 megawatts (MW) is targeted to go on stream by 2016.
