JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Awakening Party (PKB) has asked the government to name the late Fourth President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), who is also the founder of PKB, as national hero.
The request was delivered by Deputy Secretary General of PKB Daniel Johan. It has been five years for PKB and also civil society figures in promoting Gus Dur to be awarded with the title of national hero.
They believe Gus Dur deserves for the national hero status for his crucial role in transforming the country into a democratic nation and upholding pluralism. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
