JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Petronas Carigali Ltd has invested US$800 million on 2 oil and gas blocks, Muriah and Ketapang 2, in Indonesia, Investor Daily reported this morning.
Both 2 blocks are expected to be on stream in the fourth quarter of this year. Petronas is now drilling 5 development wells in Bukit Tua field and drilling 6 wells in Kepodang field.
Petronas targets to produce 2,000-3,000 barrels oil per day from Muriah and Ketapang fields.
For Kepodang gas field, state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS) and PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) will jointly build 207 km-long gas infrastructure for Kalimantan-Java, connecting Kepodang gas field to gas and coal-fired power plant (PLTGU) in Tambak Lorol, Semarang (Central Java), operated by PT Indo Power.
