JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State oil and gas company PT Pertamina allocates US$2.5 billion, equivalent Rp33 trillion, for investing in geothermal power plant (PLTP) until 2019.
Pertamina intends to boost PLTP’s intalled capacity by 505-907 megawatts. The geothermal project is also Pertamina’s priority as it helps to save fuel consumption of about 43,000 barrels oil equivalent per day.
Currently Pertamina is working on PLTP projects such as PLTP Kamojang 5 (1×35 MW) and Karaha (1×30 MW) in West Java, Ulubelu 3 & 4 (2×55 MW) in Lampung, and Lumut Balai 1 and 2 (2×55 MW) in South Sumatera.
Pertamina is also working on Lahendong 5 dan 6 (2×20 MW) power plant project and Lahendong 2×5 MW project in North Sulawesi, Sibayak 1×5 MW project in North Sumatera, Hululais 1 and 2 (2×55 MW) project in Bengkulu, and Sungai Penuh 1 (1×55 MW) project in Jambi.
