JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State oil and gas company PT Pertamina plans to build Arun LNG terminal in Aceh with investment cost of US$80 million, equivalent Rp800 billion.
The terminal will have capacity of 2,000 MMSCFD, converting liquefied natural gas (LNG) into gas.
Pertamina Gas, partnered with local state company in Aceh, PT Perta Arun Gas, will build the terminal. Pertamina Gas holds 70% interest in the project while Perta Arun Gas holds the rest.
Arun LNG terminal will supply gas to industry sector in Aceh and North Sumatera, also export the LNG.
Pertamina Gas will build pipe connecting Arun to Belawan, for 370 kilometers length, at a cost of US$400 million, to supply gas for state utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
