JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina has on Friday (August 30) stopped supplying fuel to the troubled state-owned airline Merpati Nusantara.
Merpati Nusantara Airlines’s newly installed CEO Capt Asep Eka Nugraha admitted the incident, but the issue has been resolved business-to-business.
DetikFinance reported this morning that Merpati’s overdue payment of fuels to Pertamina already reached Rp115 billion as at August 29, 2013.
Merpati Airline’s total debt is estimated at Rp6.5 trillion, including those due to state-owned companies (Rp2.51 trillion) and private sector (Rp1 trillion).
