JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State oil and gas company PT Pertamina has completed detail study for the merger of PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) and state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk (PGAS).
This merger will strengthen the gas downstream business of Pertamina. After merger, Pertamina promises to open access at all pipe developed by both parties.
Pertagas has captive market of 2,335 mmscfd in North Sumatra, South Sumatra, and West Java. It operates 43 pipe lines. PGN operates gas distribution for more than 3,750 kilometers.
Pertagas booked revenue of Rp3.78 trillion in 2012 while PGN’s revenue reached US$2.58 billion. Pertagas’ oil transportation totalled 11,022 bopd and gas transportation of 1,379 mmscfd. PGN’s gas distribution reached 1,684 mmscfd.
