JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Director of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina Karen Agustiawan finally on Thursday (Nov. 7) served the call from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for an examination session related to the graft scandal of the dismissed Chief of the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas) Rudi Rubiandini.
Karen confirmed that she will be questioned as witness for Rudi Rubiandini.
As reported earlier, KPK had named Rudi as suspect after arrested from his home at the prestigious area of Jl Brawijaya, South Jakarta, in August 2013.
KPK also confiscated hundreds of thousands USD (US$700,000) of cash money at the location and BMW motorcycle. KPK also discovered US$200,000cash inside a black bag at the office of Waryono Karno, Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources.
KPK also named two other people as suspects in the case. They are Deviardi (Rudi’s golf instructor) and Simon Gunawan Tanjaya, an executive of the Singapore-based oil trading firm of Kernel Oil Pte Ltd. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
