JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) is the first political party that have submited its campaign fund report to the General Election Commission (KPU).

While other 11 eligible political parties have not submited yet. The deadline would be next 2 days.

Juliari Peter Batubara, PDI-P’s treasury deputy, told to the press Friday (Feb 28) that PDI-P’s campaign fund reaches Rp220, with biggest contribution coming from cadres of PDI-P.

As reported earlier, the KPU has set the deadline at March 2, 2014 for the submission of campaign funds reports as well as the specific bank accounts belonging to 12 eligible political parties.

KPU Commissioner Ida Budhiati warns that KPU could cancel any political party, if failed to submit the report of campaign funds and specific bank accounts, from contesting in the 2014 election. The warning was delivered as a part of KPU’s efforts in  monitoring and combating illegal campaign finance from all contestants of the 2014 Elections.

Previously, KPU had signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Anti-Money Laundering Agency PPATK and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to help them in  monitoring and combating illegal campaign finance all the elections’ contestants. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
