JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Jacob Nuwa Wea, a senior politician from PDI-P and former Minister of Manpower under Megawati Soekarnoputri’s administration, has passed away on Saturday (April 9) at the Gleaneagles Hospital in Penang, Malaysia, due to complication of diseases.

Jacob has been received medical treatment for his diseases since a few years ago. Jacob’s body reportedly will be buried in San Diego Hills cemetery on Wednesday (April 13).

Born in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Jacob Nuwa Wea served as Minister of Manpower from August 10, 2001, to October 20, 2004.

Prior to serving as minister under Megawati Soekarnoputri’s administration, Jacob served as the Chairman of the Confederation of All-Indonesian Workers Unions (KSPSI). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
