JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Izedrik Emir Moeis, PDI-P lawmaker at the House of Representatives (DPR), is facing 4.5 years jail term for graft allegation in the Tarahan Steam Power (PLTU) project.

On Monday’s trial (March 10), Prosecutor team from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said Emir was proven to have received US$357,000 from Alstom Power Inc (US) and Marubeni Inc (Japan) for winning the tender project of the PLTU Tarahan back in 2004.

In addition, KPK prosecutor team also charged Emir to pay 250 million in fines. Emir at that time served as Deputy Head of the House Commission VII (overseeing energy & mineral resources).

Emir said he did not received the money alleged as bribe. The money was delivered by Pirooz to develop its business in Indonesia, Emir admitted.

As reported earlier, Emir Moeis had been named as suspect in the graft case on Tarahan power plant project. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
