JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The key leader of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Tjatur Sapto Edy revealed about no guarantee for his party to keep joining with Prabowo Subianto’s Red-and-White coalition.
This would strengthen the speculation that the party will jump ship into the ruling coalition of President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Kompas.com reported on Monday (September 22).
Tjatur Sapto Edy, the Head of PAN faction at the House of Representatives (DPR), however, noted that their attendance in PDI-P’s National Work Meeting (Rakernas) over the weekend was only to honor Jokowi’s party invitation.
In a different place, PAN Deputy Secretary General Teguh Juwarno said everything can happen ahead of October 20, 2014, the day of Jokowi’s inauguration as the new President of the Republic.
As reported earlier, PAN has been mentioned as one among four political parties of the Red-and-White coalition that will potentially jump ship from the coalition into Jokowi’s ruling coalition.
Jokowi expects PAN will join his coalition. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
