JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Plantation shares were mostly lower ground in the region Thursday (January 9) as palm oil continues its downfall in the futures market.
In Singapore, Golden Agri-Resources falls 2.75%, while First Resources and Wilmar International down 1.44% and 0.6% respectively. In Kuala Lumpur, IOI Corp lost 2.5%, while Felda Global Ventures dropped 1.31%. Sime Darby, KL Kepong, and IJM Plantation were also in red.
In Jakarta, PP London Sumatra down 1.86%, while Sampoerna Agro lost 2%. Salim Ivomas, BW Plantation, Gozco, and MAG were also in red, while Astra Agro inched up 0.3% only.
The benchmark March 2014 contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) dropped further by RM15 to RM2532/ton on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, while May contracts lost RM19 to RM2543/ton.
