LHOKSEUMAWE (Yosefardi) – The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas) revealed that national oil production now reaches 790,000 barrels per day, lower than 794,250 barrels per day average produced during 2014, Detikfinance.com reported.

Muliawan, SKK Migas’s deputy for operation control, said the oil production is on declining trend due to its natural reason while no new oil and gas projects will operate.

He noted the oil production of Bukit Tua field managed by Petronas Carigali will start this month. The additional production (70,000 barrel per day) is also expected to derive from Cepu blcok managed by ExxonMobil Cepu Limited.

Meanwhile state oil and gas company PT Pertamina suffered loss of US$35 million, equivalent Rp240 billion, in January 2015. Dwi Soetjipto, president director of Pertamina, said the loss was mainly due to the falling oil price.
