JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Nymex’s crude oil reached US$101.24 per barrel in Asian trading this morning, boosting buying on oil and gas stocks at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
Oil price had reached US$100 yesterday (Wednesday) but failed to help oil and gas stocks as market sentiment strongly affected.
This morning, trading focused on shares of Energi Mega Persada Tbk (ENRG) with 291 million shares exchanged hands. The stock gained 1.8%, but lost 19% from its pick in May this year.
Sugih Energy rose 2.4% on 85.43 million trading volume, followed by Benakat Petroleum which increased 0.8% with 35.78 million shares traded. Sugih has fallen 15% from its pick early last month while Benakat dropped 32% from its pick early January this year.
Apexindo and Medco Energi also gained.
