JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Muslim organization in the country, has asked President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to determine June 1, 1945, as the day of the birth of the State’s ideology Pancasila.
The proposal of making June 1 as the day of the birth of Pancasila was delivered during the commemoration of the NU’s anniversary in Candra Wilwatikta field in Pasuruan, East Java.
The commemoration of the NU’s anniversary was attended by 15,000 participants from the NU’s members and other mass organizations such as PMII, GMNI, GMKI, etc.
The Chairman of NU Said Aqil Siradj and the Chairwoman of PDI-P Megawati Soekarnoputri also present in the event. Megawati even gave her speech during the event. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
