JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Hary Tanoesoedibjo, vice president candidate from Hanura Party, and owner of MNC Group, revealed Friday (Oct 11) his group will strongly keep shares of PT Cipta Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia (CPTI) though the Supreme Court had on Thursday (Oct 10) ruled in favor of Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana aka Mbak Tutut in the dispute for control over Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia (TPI).

Hary noted TPI was a loss making company with huge debts under Tutut’s management, but its condition has changed and improved under the management of MNC Group.

PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR) also maintains the operation of MNC TV, getting no impact from Court ruling.

Harry explained that the Court ruling only impacts on PT Berkah Karya Bersama as defendant of Tutut lawsuit. MNC, Harry said, had in 2006 acquired 75% TPI shares from Berkah Karya Bersama.

“We don’t ever think MNC TV would be taken over. This is the case of Berkah, not related with MNC. MNC is protected by law,” commented David Fernando Audy, BMTR’s director, as quoted by Detikfinance.com.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) had halted trading in shares three companies of MNC Group in morning trade Friday – Media Nusantara Citra (MNCN), Global Mediacom (BMTR), and MNC Investama (BHIT) – following conflicting reports about the status of CTPI. Harry said his party had urged IDX to lift the suspension as MNC Group is not involved on the court ruling, in favor in Tutut.

IDX then resumed trading in these 3 stocks in afternoon session. MNCN gained 2.88% to close at Rp2675 per share, Global Mediacom rose 1% to Rp1990, and BHIT increased 2.86% to Rp360. Other MNC Group stocks; Indonesia Air Transport and MNC Sky Vision also gained 1.1% and 1.14% respectively.
