MOSCOW, Indonesia Today ??? Russian Nickel company, Norilsk Nickel MMC, confirms its Chairman Vladimir Strzhalkovsky and President SBY have discussed implementation of the company???s future projects in Indonesia at the APEC Business summit in Vladivostok several days ago.
The discussion includes the construction of a copper smelting complex with a capacity of 400,000 tons per annum as well as possible development of copper-nickel deposits in the region.
The talks resulted a Letter of Intent signed by Norilsk and Ministry of Industry and Trade designated Basis of Technical Cooperation Concerning Investment Activities in Metallurgy Industry. The document revealed Norilsk has high interest to invest in mining and metallurgical facilities in Indonesia. The Ministry also will ensure the provision of raw materials for the copper smelting complex.
