Nikkei 225 lost 1.8% in the opening hour Wednesday (Oct 14), dragged down by worries on China economic data.
Straits Times Index also opened lower by 0.75%, while All Ordinaries lost 0.6%. KOSPI composite index also declined 0.52% to tracking Wall Street, where DJIA ended lower by 0.29% Tuesday.
Bellwether BHP Billiton Ltd lost 0.9%, while Rio Tinto fell 0.8% to drag down All Ordinaries. Shares of global miners were hit by correction in the commodities, led by retreat of WTI crude oil to below US$47 per barrel Tuesday. Oil majors, including ExxonMobil and Chevron ended lower ground.
Earlier in New York, Freeport McMoRan lost 1.24%, while Newmont slipped 0.43%. In London, Glencore dropped 2.56%, while Anglo American down 1.81%.
