DENVER (Yosefardi) – Newmont Mining Corporation reported preliminary third quarter attributable gold production of 4 million ounces from Batu Hijau, Indonesia, dropped 50% from 8 million ounches in third quarter of 2012, and fell 33% from 6 million ounches in second quarter of 2013.
While copper production reached 19 million pounds, equal to third quarter of 2012 production, but increased 6% from 18 million pounds.
Preliminary attributable gold and copper sales were 7 million ounces and 21 million pounds, respectively.
As it reported a lower than expected ore grade processed at Batu Hijau and lower than expected mill throughput at Boddington for third quarter of this year, Newmont has revised its attributable copper production for the year.
