JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The non-active Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho and his wife Evy Susanti are expected today (Dec. 23) to face their first trials as the defendants in the two separate bribery cases.

The Wednesday’s trial will be held at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

The first case dragged down Gatot and his wife is a bribery case involving judges and registar at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) of Medan plus senior adcovate OC Kaligis.

While the second is a bribery case involving former secretary general of Surya Paloh’s Nasdem Party Patrice Rio Capella.

Both OC Kaligis and Patrice Rio Capella have just been sentenced to 5.5 years and 1.5 years in prison respectively after proven guilty for receiving bribe from Gatot and his wife. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
