JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National Agency for Rescue and Search (Basarnas) has found 6 corpses at Karimata strait, believed as victims of the missing Air Asia Flight QZ8501 aircraft, Detikcom reported.

Search and Rescue Agency chief Henry Bambang Soelistyo said the Rescue and Search team has evacuated 3 corpses.

The evacuation process is still going on but troubled by big waves.

Authorities earlier confirmed that there are 162 people aboard of AirAsia QZ 8501, which went missing in Belitung waters, Indonesia on Sunday (Dec 28).

The plane had seven crew, including French national as co-pilot, and 155 passengers. The plane lost contact with air traffic control 42 minutes after takeoff from Surabaya, East Java.
