JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Ministry of trade clarified that Gita Wirjawan has yet to submit resignation letter as minister to president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Arlinda Imbang Jaya, spokesperson of the ministry, informed Tribunnews.com Sunday (Sept 22) that Gita has only informed SBY verbally about resigning from the cabinet if there is conflict of interest in his participation the primary organized by Democratic Party.

Gita, a former banker, is one of 11 contestants in the primary. Democratic Party leaders have earlier suggested Gita and others with strategic position, including state-owned enterprises Dahlan Iskan, to resign.

Another contestant, Dino Patti Djalal, has earlier tendered his resignation as Indonesian Ambassador to the United States of America in order to focus on the primary.
