JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Suswono, Minister of Agriculture and PKS politician, has been questioned as witness by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) related to the investigation into the graft case of the 2007 procurement of an integrated radio communications system (SKRT) at the Ministry of Forestry.
KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo also confirmed the questioning over Suswono. But, it is not usual to conduct the questioning in Tegal, Central Java, in the sidelines of Suswono’s activities.
According to Johan, KPK needs to question Suswono as he served as Deputy Head of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission IV for 2004-2009 period. This commission also supervised the Forestry Ministry.
Johan, however, did not confirm on whether Suswono’s questioning was related to allegation of receiving money from Anggor Widjojo, main suspect in the case and owner of PT Masaro Radiokom.
In 2007, Anggoro’s company PT Masaro Radiokom won the tender of the SKRT project through allegedly bribing lawmakers and the Forestry Ministry’s officials.
KPK’s investigation into the SKRT graft case has revived after KPK arrested Anggoro Widjojo in Shenzhen, China, in January 2014.
Latest, KPK had asked the Immigration office to ban Malem Sambat Kaban aka MS Kaban (former Minister of Forestry and now Chairman of PBB) and his driver, Muhammad Yusuf, from overseas travel.
