JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (FITRA) has criticized Minister of Education & Culture Muhammad Nuh as the minister did not immediately report to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) over Rp700 billion corruption allegations founded by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education & Culture.
“Don’t be just silent for a kind of report like this. Minister Nuh should support the inspectorate general to bring the case to KPK,” said coordinator of FITRA, Uchok Sky Khadafy, as quoted by Koran Tempo on Monday (May 20).
Minister Nuh himself admitted that he has not yet followed up the report on Rp700 billion corruption allegations in the Directorate of Culture founded by the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Education & Culture. While Deputy Minister of Education & Culture Wiendu Nuryanti denied about those corruption allegations.
Haryono, Inspector General of the Ministry of Education & Culture, earlier revealed that his team founded Rp700 billion corruption allegations in the Directorate of Culture. Haryono, who is also former Deputy Chief of KPK, stated that he has already recommended Minister Nuh to report the found to KPK.
KPK’s spokesperson Johan Budi SP, meanwhile, said that KPK is waiting the report of those corruption allegations from Minister Nuh.
As reported earlier, the Ministry of Education & Culture has also under public criticism for the massive failure in printing and distributing Natonal Examinations materials caused the postpone of the exams in 11 provinces.
Furthermore, Minister Nuh has been urged to step down as a form of responsibility to the massive failure, including corruption allegations surrounding the printing and distribution project of 2013 exams materials and the swelling of its budget from Rp543 billion to Rp644 billion.
