JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Investors focused buying shares of mining companies Tuesday, helping lifting the composite index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) into positive territory.

The selling in most stocks put the index on the red zone during the day trading.

Shares of state tin producer PT Timah Tbk (TINS) surged 9.78% with over 13.7 million shares exchanged hands.

Vale Indonesia also gained 4.47% with trading volume of 17.67 million shares. Aneka Tambang rose 1.76% with 38.3 million shares exchanged hands.

Coal stock Adaro Energy also climbed 3.59% with trading volume of 58.45 million shares.
