JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed on Monday (June 1) that May inflation was 0.5%, compared to 0.36% in April 2015.

Off 82 cities, 81 cities recorded inflation, highest occurred in Palu (2.24%) and the lowest occurred in Singkawang (0.03%). Meanwhile one city (Pangkalpinang) recorded deflation of 0.61%.

The inflation in April 2015 was contributed by staple food (1.39%), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.50%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.2%), clothing (0.23%), health (0.34%), education, recreation, and sport (0.06%), and transportation, communication, finance services (1.2%).

Year to date inflation was 0.42% while year on year inflation was 7.15%.
