JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed that May 2014 inflation was 0.16%, compared to 0.02% inflation in previous month.

Of 82 cities, 67 cities recorded inflation. Highest inflation occured in Pematang Siantar. While highest deflation occured in Pangkal Pinang.

The inflation occured in processed food beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.35%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.23%), clothes (0.12%), health (0.41%), education, recreation, and sport (0.07%), and transportation, communication, financial services (0.21).

While stapple foods recorded deflation of 0.15%. January-April inflation was 1.56% and year-on-year inflation was 7.32%.
