JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesia’ export value reached US$14.83 billion in May 2014, grew by 3.73% from US$14.29 billion April 2014. Compared to May 2013, the figure declined 8.1%.
Non oil and gas export rose 6.95% to US$12.45 billion, down 5.74% compared to May 2013.
Export non oil and gas to China reached US$1.44 billion, followed by United States US$1.29 billion, and Japan US$1.16 billion. Export to European Union totaled US$1.41 billion.
For January-May 2014 period, the export totaled US$73.42 billion, declined 3.79% from the same period of 2013. Non oil and gas export also fell 3.61% to US$60.52 billion.
While Indonesia’s import value reached US$14.76 billion in May 2014, declined 9.23% from US$16.26 billion in April 2014. Compared to May 2013, the figure fell 11.43%.
Import of non oil and gas reached US$11.05 billion, fell 12.05% from April 2014, falling 16.46% compared to May 2013.
The Indonesia posted trade surplus of US$70 million in May 2014, an improvement from deficit of almost US$2 billion in the previous month.
