JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has on Tuesday (Apr. 28) sworn in Manahan Malontige Pardamean Sitompul, 61, as new justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) replacing Muhammad Alim, who has entered his mandatory retirement age in April 2015.
Manahan Sitompul will serve as one of three Supreme Court-nominated justices until 2020.
Born in Tarutung, North Tapanuli, North Sumatra, on Dec. 8, 1953, Manahan previously served as deputy head of the Banjarmasin High Court in South Kalimantan.
Manahan started his career as a judge at the Kabanjahe District Court in Karo, North Sumatra, back in 1986. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
