JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Maj. Gen. Maliki Mift has been sworn in as the new commander of the Indonesian Military Police (POM TNI) in the TNI’s headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Monday (May. 4).
The commander of the military Gen. Moeldoko also officially established the newly Military Police, a part of the restructuring of each military police in the Army, Navy, and the Airforce.
The inauguration ceremony is attended by 759 personnels of the Military Police.
Maliki Mift is known as former adjutant and personal assistant of the late Soeharto when the latter served as the second President of the Republic.
Maliki also led the join investigation team established by the National Police and the Indonesian Military on an armed clash between soldiers and police officers at the Riau Island’s Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarters in Batam, Riau Islands, back in September 2014.
