JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Plantation firm PT PP London Sumatra Indonesia Tbk (LSIP) produced 124,000 tons of crude palm oil (CPO) in fourth quarter of 2013, down 1.6% from 126,000 tons in the same period of 2012.

Compared to third quarter of 2013, LSIP’s CPO production jumped 22.8%. For the whole year of 2013, LSIP’s CPO production reached 396,493 tons, declined 11.5% from 448,250 tons in 2012.

Palm kernel production also fell 12.4% to 94,444 tons, from previous 107,794 tons.

Planting activity is 2013 was 6,103 ha respectively, where new planting and replanting of oil palm was 4,541 ha and 365 ha repectively.

Additional newly mature area for oil palm during 2013 was around 1,109 ha, resulted in 74,944 ha of oil palm mature area by the end of 2013 while oil palm mature area at the end of 2012 was 74,268 ha.

LSIP booked net profit of Rp768.6 billion in 2013, dropped 31% from Rp1.1 trillion in 2012. Sales declined 1.8% to Rp4.13 trillion from previous Rp4.2 trillion. CPO sales volume in 2003 increased by 7.6% to 440,999 tons.
