JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) inched up at market’s close as late buying helped lifting the index into positive territory.
IDX opened higher at morning trade but then profit taking hit. In regional, most markets closed in red. Japan’s Nikkei and Malaysia’s KLSE dropped more than 1%.
In Jakarta bourse, banking stocks led market’s gain. Bank Mandiri gained 2.3%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 1.85%, and Bank Central Asia increased 0.97%.
Other gainers were Astra International (+0.78%), Bumi Serpong Damai (+1.94%), Bumi Resources (+8.5%), Kalbe Farma (+2.14%), Telkom (+1.28%), Waskita Karya (+3.95%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (+7.32%).
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.49% to US$103.58. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp10,278 against the US Dollar.
