JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The death toll rises to 12 from a landslide in Cimerak hamlet, Tegal Panjang village, Cireungas district, Sukabumi, West Java, based on the data released by the National Disaster Mitigation Agency.

BNPB’s Spokesperson Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said on Sunday (Mar. 29) that the joint and rescue team (SAR) has successfully found all of 12 death victims buried under the landslide.

Sutopo also said around 290 other residents have been evacuated to several shelters.

A heavy rain on Saturday has triggered the landslide that swallowed up houses in Cimerak hamlet. The landslide, according to BNPB, has cut off the access of Sukalarang – Cireungas road. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
