JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State steel producer PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS), through its subsidiary PT KHI Pipe Industries, has completed the construction of electric resistant welding (ERW #2) pipe, unit 2, with investment cost of Rp335 billion.
This new facility boosts KHI Pipe’s installed production to 233,000 tons per year. The ERW #2 facility is located in Cilegon, Banten.
While domestic steel sales is expected to grow by 6% to 15 millio tons this year, compared to 14.3 million tons last year. The average world steel price is expected to reach US$536 per tons this year.
