JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The General Election Commission (KPU) has on Wednesday (July 16) started to recapitulate the votes of July 9 presidential election in regency/municipality level.
The recapitulation of votes will be concurrently conducted until Thursday (July 17) in 511 regencies/municipalities across the country.
The KPU is expected to announce the final results of its official counting on July 22, 2014.
As reported earlier, the quick count results from majority of polling agencies pointed to Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as the winner of the election.
For example, CSIS-Cyrus predicted that Jokowi will win the election with 51.09% votes against 48.10% of Prabowo Subianto’s votes.
In a related progress, according to Kawalpemilu.org, a website that independently recapitulating votes based on vote recapitulation documents (known as C1 forms) from polling stations across the archipelago that are uploaded to the KPU’s website, pointed that Jokowi lead the race with 52.82% votes over Prabowo’s 47.17% votes.
