JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The General Election Commission (KPU) removed lawmaker candidates from PDI-P and Nasdem Party from the fixed candidates list (DCT) for 2014 election.

This removal was made after being recommended by the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). The candidates removed are Halius Hosein from PDI-P and Bambang Herdadi from Nasdem Party.

KPU Commissioner Hadar Nafis Gumay explained Tuesday that Halius Hosein has been eliminated because he failed to give full personal information. According to Hadar, Halius only submitted to the KPU that he resigned from State prosecutor. In fact, he is still serving as Chairman of the Attorney General Commission.

While Bambang Herdadi was eliminated as he failed to pass the requirement of lawmaker candidate. Bambang had ever been sentenced for criminal act which charged him with 5 years or more in prison as maximum punishment.

Bambang, a PDI-P politician who turned into Nasdem Party politician, was sentenced for one year in a graft case of insurance fund of the Subang Legislative Council (DPRD) when he served as the Speaker of the DPRD Subang.

KPU reportedly had also eliminated two other candidates as recommended by Bawaslu. They are Yusron Ihza Mahendra, a candidate of the Regional Consultatives Council (DPD), and another undisclosed name. Yusron was eliminated as has been sworn in as Indonesian Ambassador for Japan.
