JAKARTA (Yosefardi) –The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the establishment of the ethics council to examine ethical violation allegation committed by KPK Chief Abraham Samad depends on the preliminary examination over the allegation.

KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi SP explained that the KPK’s internal supervisory team is still working to collect testimonies and evidences related to the allegation against Abraham. Johan said the team will soon summon more witnesses to testify.

According to Johan, the evidences submitted by PDI-P acting secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto is not enough for KPK to establish its ethical council to examine Abraham in the allegation of committing ethical violation.

As reported earlier, Hasto has on Monday (Feb. 9) answered KPK’s invitation to submit evidences to prove his accusation against Abraham Samad. Hasto handed over some photographs that he claimed can prove Abraham was actively lobbying PDI-P to nominate him as the running mate of Jokowi in the 2014 presidential race.

Abraham, meanwhile, has repeatedly denied the accusation made against him. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
