JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated firmly that the Anti-Graft Commission needs no permission of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in summoning and examining Constitutional Court Judges in graft cases related in the handling of post elections disputes which dragged the dismissed Constitutional Court Chief Justice Akil Mochtar as suspect.

Some law experts also expressed their legal’s views on supporting KPK.
The debate came to surface after KPK revealing its plan to summon and examine two Constitutional Court Judges, Maria Farida Indrati and Anwar Usman, related to Akil Mochtar’s case.
While Secretary General of the Constitutional Court Janedjri M Gaffar has confirmed that the Court has already received the call from KPK for both Maria and Usman.
But Maria earlier said that she was still waiting the President’s permission for responding to KPK’s call. She argued that the Constitutional Court Law requires a permission from the President when a judge of Court would be examined.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
