JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked Immigration Office to ban Athiyyah Laila, wife of the ousted Chairman of President SBY’s Democratic Party Anas Urbaningrum, from overseas travel for six months related to further investigation on the high profile bribery case of the controversial Hambalang stadium project.

KPK earlier has raided Athiyyah & Anas’ private house. In the raid, KPK has confiscated Athiyyah’s passport and some documents. Latest, KPK has scheduled to re-examine Athiyyah as witness next week. KPK’s investigator team failed to summon Athiyyah on Monday (Nov. 18) as Athiyyah was sick.

KPK has been intensifying its investigation over Athiyyah for her involvement allegation in the Hambalang case.

Athiyyah is known as former commissioner of PT Dutasari Citralaras, a partner of a state-owned construction firm PT
Adhi Karya Tbk (ADHI) in the construction of the Hambalang project. Athiyyah in previous report, reportedly owned some shares in PT Dutasari Citralaras.

The case itself has dragged a lot of high-profile names, including Athiyyah’s husband Anas Urbaningrum, as suspects.

Other suspects in the case are Minister of Youth and Sports Andi Alfian Zulkarnaen, Deddy Kusdinar (Chief of financial and internal affairs bureau at the Ministry of Youth & Sports), Teuku Bagus Muhammad (Director of PT Adhi Karya Tbk), and Mahfud Suroso (Director of PT Dutasari Citralaras).

Hambalang is a sport complex project was built on 32 hectares area in Bogor Regency, West Java. This project costed Rp1.5 trillion funded by 2010 state budget. Two state-owned construction firms, PT Adhi Karya (ADHI) and PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA), won the project tender. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
