JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is set to summon in the coming days Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah as witness in a bribery case related in the post election dispute of Lebak regency which dragged Ratu Atut’s brother as suspect.

KPK earlier asked Immigration Office to ban Banten governor Ratu Atut Choisiyah from overseas travel just after the arrest of her brother, Tubagus Chairy Wardhana aka Wawan.

Wawan, who is also husband of South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, has been named as suspect for bribing the non-active Constitutional Court Chief Justice Akil Mochtar. Besides Wawan, KPK also named Susi Tur Andayani, reportedly legislator candidate from PDI-P, as another suspect. KPK also confiscated around Rp1 billion of cash money allegedly given to Akil related in the handling of the post election dispute of Lebak regency.

Wawan, Ratu Atut and Airin are politicians from Golkar Party, a party currently led by Aburizal Bakrie. Wawan, who serves as Chairman of Golkar’s youth wing organization AMPG of Banten provincial chapter, also a businessman.

Akil Mochtar himself is also a former lawmaker from Golkar Party. Akil was a presiding judge of Constitutional Court Judges in the handling of post election dispute of Lebak regency, Banten.

Panel of Constitutional Court Judges led by Akil, in a verdict trial on Tuesday (October 1), has accepted lawsuit filed by the losing pair candidate endorsed by Golkar, Amir Hamzah and his running mate Kasmin.

Panel of judges then canceled the victory of Iti Octavia – Ade Sumardi pair and ordered the local election commission to held a re-election in Lebak Regency. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
