JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is scheduled to examine Ratu Atut Chosiyah, Banten Governor and politician from Golkar Party, on Friday (October 11) for bribery allegation in the post election dispute of Lebak regency.
This election dispute have dragged Ratu Atut’s brother and the dismissed Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Akil Mochtar as suspects.
According to Johan Budi SP, Spokesperson of KPK, Ratu Atut will be examined as witness for her brother Tubagus Chairy Wardhana aka Wawan, suspect in the case.
KPK earlier asked Immigration Office to ban Governor Atut from overseas travel just after the arrest of her brother.
In a different place, the Anti-Graft watchdog Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) suggested KPK to not hesitate arrest Atut if she was strongly alleged involved in bribing Akil Mochtar.
Media widely speculates about the role of Atut in Akil Mochtar’s bribery case. During past week, media focus their publications on Atut’s political dynasty in Banten province, including various graft allegations.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
