JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sends a strong message to proceed anyone who have paid a bribe to the dismissed Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Akil Mochtar related to the handling of post-election dispute.

KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo stated that further investigation conducted by KPK will be the key to find out whether or not there are still other people paid a bribe to Akil.

As reported earlier, anti-corruption activists alleged Akil could be received more bribe money and gifts from other people in a lot of other post-election disputes handled by the Constitutional Court.

Furthermore, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) revealed that they have found suspicious transactions between Akil and regional leaders or regional leader candidates from outside of Java Island.

PPATK Deputy Head Agus Santoso said that the finding could help KPK to process more bribers related to Akil’s case. However, he was reluctant to mention any names already submitted to KPK.

So far, KPK has arrested five people and named them as suspects for allegedly bribing Akil related to the handling of post-election disputes in Lebak regency (Banten) and Gunung Mas regency (Central Kalimantan).

They are Tubagus Chaeri Wardana aka Wawan (brother of Ratu Atut Chosiyah, Banten Governor and Golkar Party leader) and Susi Tur Andayani (a legislator candidate from PDI-P) related to the handling of post-election dispute in Lebak regency.

While three other people are Golkar lawmaker Chairun Nisa, Gunung Mas Regent Hambit Bintih, and businessman Cornelis Nalau related to the handling of post-election dispute in Gunung Mas regency. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
